For girls, pretend with her that she is going to a party using soap foam as cream, powder, blush, etc.
and while her hair is soapy from the shampoo, shape it really funky!
Bath tub safety!
Never leave a small child unattended in a bathtub - even if an older sibling is present!
Taking care of little teeth
For infants - try brushing their gums with a wet gauze pad with or without toothpaste.
Lay small children on a bed to have better access to their little pearlies!
Let the child practice brushing in the tub where making a mess doesn't matter!
Brush with your child - children learn a lot from example.
Toilet Training
Start at around 20 months (or younger if you think the child is ready) by putting the child's potty
in the main bathroom of the house next to the "big" potty so he/she gets used to it. Tell the child that
this is his/her potty now.
Try letting your child go without bottom clothing at all - this is daring I know - but it may
make the process easier!
Let your child learn from example - let him/her watch you or a sibling go to the potty or a children's book
might be helpful.
Get a box of baby wipes and keep them near the potty - makes it much easier to clean poopie butts!
Uh-Oh, Bed time for bonzo!
Deterimining bedtime - Keep bedtime at the same time every night to help establish regular sleep habits.
Tell the child put all of his/her toys to bed and a special stuffed one for him/her to keep in the bed and
let the child be the last one to hit the sack.
Getting to sleep - For the child who is afraid of the dark, check all nooks and crannies for "monsters".
Try leaving his/her door slightly open with a hall light on.
Quiet time or story time before bed helps calm children greatly.
Don't use a crib or bed for a place of punishement.
Give your child a relaxing mini massage (my daughter loves them!).
Create a dream jar out of an old empty can that you and the child decorated and have slips of paper for it,
before bed time help the child write on the paper something he/she would like to dream about and slip
it into the dream jar or the child can sleep with the paper under his/her pillow for extra confidence.
I hope you found something here that helps you...
